Newhall Man Identified After Jumping Off Newhall Pass

The person who died on Friday night after jumping from a freeway overpass in Newhall has been identified.

Rodd Boggio, 55, from Newhall, was the individual who died on Friday night after jumping off the Newhall overpass, said Kelly Vail, spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.

On Friday around 8:11 p.m., officers with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded to a call about a single vehicle blocking the transition of the southbound Interstate 5 to the northbound 14 Freeway in the Newhall Pass just south of Santa Clarita, according to Officer Elizabeth Kravig with the CHP.

“One party jumped off the transition road and ended up landing on The Old Road,” Kravig said.

CHP rushed down The Old Road where they found one person, later pronounced dead at the scene, according to Kravig.
