A woman was arrested for child endangerment after she was allegedly involved in a DUI crash with a child as a passenger Sunday evening in Newhall.

Around 10:50 p.m. Sunday, California Highway Patrol (CHP) Newhall Area units received reports of a two-vehicle crash on the southbound 14 Freeway at Placerita Canyon Road in Newhall, said Officer Carlos Burgos-Lopez, spokesperson for the CHP Newhall Area Office.

“Officers arrived on scene and conducted an investigation,” Burgos-Lopez said.

It was determined that one of the drivers involved was under the influence and had a 16-year-old passenger in the car, according to officials.

Judit Vizcarra, 35, from Winnetka, was arrested for misdemeanor DUI and felony child endangerment, according to Burgos-Lopez.

The suspect was booked into the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station jail.

No injuries were reported to the 16-year-old from the crash.
