A group of shoplifting suspects didn’t make it very far Wednesday night after allegedly stealing thousands of dollars in merchandise and then speeding right past the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station moments later.

Deputies responded to a shoplifting call from Dick’s Sporting Goods store after suspects reportedly took nearly $6,000 worth of merchandise without paying.

SCV Sheriff’s Station

Just minutes after the call came in, deputies spotted the suspects’ vehicle as it passed directly by the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. A traffic stop was immediately conducted, and deputies recovered the stolen merchandise from the vehicle.

Four adults were arrested in connection with the theft: Daijan Douglas, 26, of Victorville; Jada Davidson, 24, of Los Angeles; Robert Whitmore, 36, of Palmdale; and Randy Whitmore, 24, also of Palmdale. All four were taken to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Jail and booked on felony theft-related charges.

Anyone with information related to retail theft or other crimes is encouraged to report it to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
