Congratulations to Kody Kurowski from Saugus High School for being selected as a “Player of the Week.”

Saugus’ 35-34 double-overtime victory against St. Francis is being hailed as one of the biggest wins in school history.

And one of the biggest reasons for the victory is Kody Kurowski.

In an era when two-way high school players are at a premium, the defensive end/tight end is a valuable commodity for the Centurions.

Friday was the perfect example why.

On defense, the third-year varsity starter not only recovered a fumble, but forced another that resulted in a score. He then saved his finest moment for offense, catching a game-winning two-point conversion pass. It’s for these feats that Kody Kurowski has been chosen as the Lockheed Federal Credit Union Player of the Week.

Congratulations Kody, from AM-1220, KHTS, The Santa Clarita Valley Signal and Lockheed Federal Credit Union.
