Details: “Mission Opera, in collaboration with Canyon High Drama, proudly presents a powerful double bill of one-act operas by Carlisle Floyd — Slow Dusk and The Sojourner and Mollie Sinclair — on April 10-12, 2026. The production is part of the Carlisle Floyd Centennial, an international celebration marking the 100th anniversary of the composer’s birth to honor his legacy as one of the most significant figures in American opera.

Conducted by Christopher Ray, Executive Director of the Carlisle Floyd Centennial, these two shows are rarely performed. Both set in Colonial North Carolina during the American Revolution, Slow Dusk, a tragedy, features a love story amidst the division of early American religious sects, whereas the comedy Mollie Sinclair explores Scottish immigrants and their reluctance to assimilate.

Where: Canyon High School Performing Arts Center, 19300 Nadal Street, Santa Clarita
