Santa Clarita Valley Water Agency Announces ‘Last’ Chance To Weigh In On Sustainability Plan

On Monday, the Santa Clarita Valley Water Agency (SCV Water) announced that it is set to hold a virtual workshop for the public later this month to address its Groundwater Sustainability Plan (GSP), among other subjects.

On Aug. 25, SCV Water is set to hold a virtual special board meeting viewable by members of the public to discuss various topics related to the operation of the agency, and it may be the last chance for the public to weigh in on the topic.

“The plan represents years of work aimed at ensuring a reliable future water supply for the Santa Clarita Valley and combines all the public input from committee meetings, workshops and technical documents,” SCV Water officials stated. “This is the last opportunity to weigh in on the Groundwater Sustainability Plan and we want to hear from you.”

Previous public workshops have covered such topics as the organization’s discussion on which parts of their budget need to be adjusted for the fiscal year of 2021/2022.

“The GSP will be tailored to the resources and needs within our community and must be adopted by January 2022,” SCV Water officials stated. “A resource center is available where you can watch videos and download handouts for further study”
