Several Santa Clarita Valley court cases had hearings this week, included a two attempted murder in Canyon Country and a case of arson alleged in Castaic

The crime reports are in for the Santa Clarita Valley, detailing crimes dealt with by local deputies in Canyon Country, Castaic, Newhall, Stevenson Ranch, Saugus and Valencia.

Castaic Middle School was hit with vandalism and what appears to be attempted arson between Saturday evening and Monday morning. It is the third case of vandalism to hit the Castaic Union School District since Dec. 23.
