Two Caltrans construction projects will affect traffic on Interstate-5 this week. Caltrans will close southbound I-5 in the San Fernando Valley Monday night through Wednesday morning and reopen the Gorman Road on-ramp to northbound I-5 on Wednesday.

A hit-and-run collision Wednesday morning on southbound Interstate 5, near Parker Road, injured seven people, officials said the driver of a white SUV who fled the scene traveling southbound on I-5 is believed to be responsible for the collision.

A collision on southbound 1-5 near Parker Road blocked traffic after a female was ejected from her vehicle Wednesday at 11:45 a.m. An airlift was called in for the injured person.

California Department of Transportation will be closing lanes, ramps, and connectors as part of a $100.1 million project.
