Jerri Jorgensen

Jerri Jorgensen, together with her husband Mark, founded Desert Solace residential treatment center, located in St. George Utah. Desert Solace specializes in pornography addiction and other sexual addictions, as well as treating dependence on other addictive behaviors and substances. The Jorgensens founded Desert Solace after their own recovery journey in the wake Mark’s disclosure of a 30-year secret addiction to pornography.

Jerri holds the position of Family Liaison with Desert Solace. Her formal responsibilities include coordinating and facilitating communication between the clinical staff at Desert Solace and the families of the inpatient clients. She also serves informally as a listening ear and support system to wives and other family members experiencing the pain and betrayal of loved ones struggling with pornography and sex addiction.

Jerri speaks frequently on the topic of the effects of pornography on individuals and marriages, and the joy that is possible from recovery. Her and Mark’s story was featured on the KSL (Salt Lake City) television special “Healing the Brokenhearted” broadcast between LDS general conference sessions in October 2011. Their story of recovery has also been told on other television, radio, and print outlets.
Jerri was born and raised in Logan, Utah. She earned a bachelors degree from Utah State University and a masters from the University of Wyoming in physical education, dance, and health. For 20 years, she taught and coached for high schools in Wyoming and for the Department of Defense Dependent Schools in Germany.

Jerri and Mark have been married for 16 years and have a blended family of 8 children and 7 grandchildren. Prior to founding Desert Solace, they owned and operated a retail piano and organ store. They live in the Little Valley area of St. George, Utah where they remain active in their church and community. They enjoy the beautiful red rock scenery of southern Utah as frequently as possible from its many spectacular hiking and biking trails.

Jerri’s message to addicts and their families is that recovery is possible. Hearts can heal, and relationships can be repaired when all parties involved are willing to be honest, open, and committed.
