This means that property owners in the community, once it is built, will have to pay a “special tax” to pay for three public parking structures around the Vista Canyon area that will be owned by the city of Santa Clarita.
The bond will allow up to $45 million to be set towards construction of the parking structures and a bus transit facility that will be built in the area.

All of the ballots cast for that vote were in favor of the district.
The approved design for the housing development contains 1,100 residential units. A total of 995,000 square feet of commercial real estate is also set to be developed. Advertisement for the housing areas claims that residents will never be “more than a ten minute walk from town center.”
The original project was approved by the city council in April 2011.
