Sponsored in part by TriStar Home Loans, the organization will hold its 12th Annual “Hold ‘Em Not Hassle ‘Em” fundraising event to benefit programs provided by the SCV Youth Project.

The organization expects over 130 players to take over the Valencia Country Club for a night of Texas Hold ‘Em-style poker, casino games, a raffle, food and wine.

“The 12th Annual Hold ‘Em Not Hassle ‘Em Tournament has continued to attract a new group of supporters each year,” said Kim Goldman, executive director since 2005. “We can’t believe the success of this event, even after 10 years of hosting it in Santa Clarita.”

All proceeds from the event will benefit the SCV Youth Project, which provides free peer mentoring, crisis intervention, support groups and outreach to teenagers on junior and senior high school campuses throughout Santa Clarita, according to officials.

In previous years, the poker tournament has raised more than $20,000 for the Santa Clarita Youth Project; the goal for this year is $25,000.

During the event, players will have the opportunity to win the grand prize of a 2019 World Series of Poker entry.

Other prizes include gift certificates, electronics, bicycles, gift baskets, wine and VIP tickets to Jimmy Kimmel Live, according to officials.

“This continues to be the best poker event in our valley. How can you deny yourself an evening playing a great game with an awesome grand prize … that raises money for a great cause?” says Gregg Goodman, a Youth Project board member since 2001.

The poker tournament is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 10 at the Valencia Country Club.

A silent auction, appetizers and check in will be held before the event at 5 p.m., with the tournament beginning at 6 p.m.

Tickets are $125 per individual buy-in for the tournament and $40 for spectators and silent auction access.
