Motorhome Catches Fire In Newhall, Blaze Quickly Extinguished

A motorhome caught fire in Newhall on Monday afternoon, and emergency crews quickly extinguished the blaze.

The fire was reported at 4:43 p.m. near the intersection of Sierra Highway and Newhall Avenue at the far end of the Chevron gas station. Knockdown was reported “not too long” after, however now specific time was given, according to Lt. Bryan Aguilera with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

The motorhome was “a total loss,” Aguilera said, adding that two cars adjacent to the vehicle were also damaged.

“The motorhome looked older and there was no damage to the gas station,” said Aguilera.

Personnel with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station and the Los Angeles County Fire Department were on scene.

No injuries were reported and no further information is available at this time.
