Pitchess Teacher Sentenced For Sex With Inmate

 A former Pitchess Detention Center teacher pleaded no contest today to having unlawful sexual contact with an inmate, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Lisa Nichole Leroy, 33, entered the plea to one misdemeanor count of sexual activity with a detainee in a detention facility, according to Deputy District Attorney Melyssa Avola said .

Leroy was immediately sentenced to three years summary probation and 40 hours of community service.

Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Valerie Salkin of the Santa Clarita Branch also ordered her to attend 24 counseling sessions, to stay away from all penal institutions and from the victim while on probation.

The probation terms also prohibit Leroy from teaching inmates or minors.

On Oct. 2, 2013, Leroy had sexual contact with the adult inmate while they were in a jail classroom, the prosecutor said.

The case was investigated by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
