Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies hope to increase community outreach and catch wanted criminals with a new program they started Friday.
The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Most Wanted list is compiled by station detectives and deputies with the Crime Prevention Unit.
“These are people with outstanding warrants, who are already wanted for alleged crimes,” said Deputy Josh Dubin of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, “and we are asking for the public’s help in finding these suspects.”
Deputies are planning to release more suspects as they identify outstanding suspects, Dubin added.
Edward Valdez is described as a 57-year-old Hispanic male, approximately 5’ 5” and 145 pounds, with brown hair and brown hair.
Valdez is wanted for possession of a controlled substance, and has a no bail warrant for his arrest Jan. 9, 2007.
Prospero Lara Miramontes is described as a 32 year old Hispanic male. He is approximately 5’ 6” and 175 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Prospero Lara Miramontes is wanted for possession of a controlled substance and for driving under the influence. He has a no bail warrant for his arrest issued November 23, 2005.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of either of these men is encouraged to contact their local law enforcement agency or the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station at 661-255-1121.
Deputies ask that you not attempt to detain or apprehend, call 911.
Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies also send out news release with crime reports sent out specific to one of eight crime zones created by the Sheriff’s Station.
The announcements for the “Most Wanted” program will also be sent out through Nixle, officials said.
Deputies also ask, “If you see something, say something,” Dubin said. “Anyone with information about a crime is encouraged to contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Santa Clarita Valley Station at 661-255-1121.
