Six Flags officials are asking for Santa Clarita resident’s input for names to add to the “hero tree,” at the new event “Holiday in the Park.”

The tree will honor Santa Clarita Valley heroes, and will feature ornaments with the names of heroes, i.e., veterans, first responders, etc, that residents have provided, according to officials.
“If you have a list of folks in your respective areas that we could use for the tree, it would be greatly appreciated. The people can be living or deceased,” said Magic Mountain spokeswoman Sue Carpenter.
The “Holiday in the Park” event, which has been successful at four other Six Flags amusement parks, features special performances, holiday-themed treats and drinks, carolers, more than one million holiday lights and a chance to meet Santa Claus, according to officials from the event.
DC Universe will feature a spectacle-of-lights show, with contemporary holiday music set to millions of lighting variations programmed using tens of thousands of lights, according to a Six Flags news release. It will be one of the largest programmed light shows on the West Coast.
There will also be a contemporary music and dance show on the Full Throttle Stage.
“We’ve always done something (for the holidays),” said Carpenter. “This is just ramping it up–blowing it out of the water per se.”

I would like to nominate Mrs. Roxanne Jeppesen of Santa Clarita, CA. She is the founder of “Cultivating Creative Minds” and has saved music and the arts in many our Santa Clarita schools. I have personally worked with her and thousands of students have benefited from her efforts.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Kim Treat

I would like to nominate Mark Graves as he served as a Sheriff deputy for 24 years and helped with drug enforcement and keeping our streets safe. He has passed in 2004 but is a hero to many.
