Santa Clarita Valley Entertainment Report: February 04, 2016 – Friday night at Genghis Cohen on Fairfax in Hollywood is your last chance for a few months to catch Santa Clarita torch singer and Sara Niemietz and her guitar partner Snuffy Walden.

Sara and Snuffy, also two-time guests on SCVTV’s “House Blend” show hosted by yours truly (first in Season 2 and encoring in Season 4), will spotlight originals and favorites including songs from her latest EP, “Fountain and Vine.”

Saturday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. the SRD-Straighten Reins Foundation hosts a family-friendly Ranch Roundup celebration at the non-profit’s ranch up San Francisquito Canyon.

A donation of $20 gets you in for all the festivities including a BBQ lunch, music by the band Rebel Heart, dancing, billiards, horseshoes and more games, a photo booth, a silent raffle and more.

The roundup is a fundraiser for the SRD, which specializes in equine-assisted learning and therapies focused on at-risk teens in L.A., Ventura and Kern counties. For tickets and info, call SRD at 661-263-9371.

Saturday night starting at 6, you can rock with the band Three Feet Under’s acoustic tribute to rock at the Pocock Brewery on Avenue Tibbetts. Call (661) 775-4899 or visit the brewery website.

And Saturday night, 8 p.m. is showtime for The Jeff Jensen Band’s “Hometown Boogie” jam at the Rep on Main Street in Old Town Newhall. Tickets are $20-$50; call 661-288-0000.

Another popular “House Blend” alum, singer-songwriter-guitarist-bandleader Sean Wiggins, rips it up at Wine 661 in the Valencia Crossroads center, also starting at 8 p.m. Saturday. There’s no cover charge; call 661-288-2980 for reservations.
