In the first quarter of 2018, Hill has raised over $400,000, bringing her grand total to $1,092,025.10. This is reportedly the most successful quarter for Hill since she announced her candidacy, with more than 9,800 individual contributions and more than 5,100 individual donors, according to data from the Federal Election Commission (FEC).
Bryan Caforio, another Democratic candidate for the 25th Congressional district, raised over $238,000 during the first quarter of 2018.
Congressman Steve Knight, the incumbent representative for the 25th Congressional District, raised over $302,000 during the first quarter of 2018.
This places Hill ahead of Caforio by nearly $200,000 in terms of total funds raised, as well as bringing her closer to the amount of money raised by Knight, who has raised $1,260,954.71 so far during the election, according to records from the FEC.
Knight still maintains a large lead in terms of cash on hand, with nearly double the amount of cash on hand than Hill or Caforio.
Either Hill hill Caforio are the most likely candidates to run against Knight for the 25th Congressional District, with the California open primary set to be held on June 5.
The top two candidates in the primary will move on to the general election in November, regardless of party.
