Firefighters Airlift Family From Castaic Lake After Medical Emergency (VIDEO)

Firefighters airlifted at least one patient from Castiac Lake Thursday morning after a medical emergency at the Castaic Lake Campsite.

Two children and their mother were taken to a pediatric hospital, but officials could not release how many of them were being treated.

Crews on scene determined a helicopter would be faster than ambulance because the family had to be transported to a pediatric hospital.

Los Angeles County Fire Department officials declined to provide any additional details Thursday morning.
