Over 1,200 Residents Without Electricity In Santa Clarita Power Outage

A Santa Clarita power outage left over 1,200 residents without power Wednesday morning due to an electrical fire in Newhall.

Around 7:50 a.m. Wednesday, firefighters received reports of an electrical fire in the 22000 block of Parvin Drive in Newhall, said Charisma Murillo, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

“It was an underground vault fire,” Murillo said.

As a result of the fire, about 1,279 residents are without power, according to officials with Southern California Edison, (SCE).

The area affected by the outage is east of Railroad Avenue and north of Newhall Avenue, according to SCE officials.

It is unclear when power is set to be restored.

  1. We had two outages lasting half a day each last week in Saugus. They sent us no advance notification. We also had outages of half a day (or in one case all night) last month. California has really slipped to being a third world country. High crime, corrupt government, fraudulent elections, and a lack of basic services, that’s the state of the State. And so we can’t force SCE to do better because out corrupt government is accepting bribe money from them, and we can’t replace our corrupt government because of election fraud.

  2. think you mean vault fire not volt fire

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
