A brush fire near Placerita Canyon Rd. Monday afternoon was started by a tractor, fire officials said.

The fire broke out shortly after 12:30 p.m. on Pacy St., near the intersection of Placerita Canyon Rd.

It was initially reported as a tractor fire that spread to the brush, fire officials said.

Fire crews are had arrived on scene by 4:43 p.m. and were able to stop the fire before it spread from the scene.

“They started knockdown about a minute ago,” fire officials said at 12:45 p.m.
