A motorcycle erupted in flames, leading to a small brush fire on Placerita Canyon Road Sunday morning.

The motorcyclist was driving down the 14 Freeway when “someone flagged the motorcyclist down, saying his bike was on fire,” according to Sheriff’s deputies on scene.

The driver then ditched his motorcycle on the side of Placerita Canyon Road near Sierra Highway, leading to a small brush fire, according to LACoFD officials.

“The first engine that arrived said that they could handle, and it was downgraded from a brush response,” said Supervisor Cheryl Sims, spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Although he was devastated by the loss of his motorcycle, the driver was not injured, according a KHTS reporter on scene.

Fire officials extinguished the blaze within minutes, and no one was transported to a hospital, despite an ambulance being called, according to officials.
