One Dead, Four Injured In Car Accident Near Castaic Sunday

One person is dead and four injured Sunday after a car went off the southbound side of Interstate 5 freeway, north of Castaic.

The car plummeted approximately 100 feet over the side of the freeway near the Vista Del Lago exit.

The car caught fire, which spread to the surrounding brush.

The No. 4 lane of the freeway in the area would be closed for approximately three hours.

California Highway Patrol officers did not release the identity of the victims or the condition of the survivors.
