“This tragedy has affected and impacted not only the family, but also the community,” said Dominic’s grandfather, Gene Hall. “People are saddened, they are shocked and they are angry about the events of last week.”
On the morning of Thursday, Nov. 14, a 16-year-old Saugus student walked into the quad of Saugus High School, pulled out a .45-caliber semiautomatic handgun, and opened fire.

Blackwell, along with 15-year-old Gracie Muehlberger, was killed as a result of the shooting, with three other students injured.
“A senseless act of violence extinguished the lives of two beautiful young people,” Hall said. “Our hearts go out to the family and friends of Gracie Muehlberger as they mourn the loss of their dear Cinderella.”
Dominic Michael Blackwell was born on Sept. 11, 2005. He was the oldest of four sons, and was “a kid with an infectious laugh, a bright smile and a kind heart,” according to Hall.
“A lot will be said, proposed, and done in the coming weeks and months regarding the issues that were raised by this tragedy. But that’s not why we’re here today,” Hall said. “We’re here to commemorate the life of our son, our big brother, our grandson, our nephew, our friend.”

So sad it makes me mad. I’m all for the second amendment but lock those weapons of death up please for the sake of our children you can’t trust anyone not even your kids with them. Restrict those gory games of death they play on their consoles and say no to unsupervised internet they don’t need it and they don’t need social media.
