Two individuals were taken to the hospital Monday evening after a three-car collision on the northbound 14 Freeway near Golden Valley Road on Monday evening, officials said.

Reports were received around 4:35 p.m. Monday evening of a car crash on the northbound 14 freeway, north of Golden Valley Road.

The collision is said to have involved at least three vehicles, according to Officer Brandt with the California Highway Patrol.

“(Officials on scene) requested two additional ambulances,” said Supervisor Flores with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Two individuals were transported to a nearby medical facility as a result of the collision, according to supervising dispatchers with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The condition of the patients was unknown as of Monday evening.

Traffic was backed up as far south as the Newhall Pass, according to officials.
