Express Employment Professionals Santa Clarita Office held a local event Friday showing off eight black and white Clydesdale horses, one of which is being donated to Carousel Ranch, officials said.

The event was held at Express Employment Professionals Santa Clarita office Friday where the horses, including EX Deckers Nash who is being donated, were on display for the public to admire, said Yvonne Rockwell, owner of the Santa Clarita office.

“Express corporate brought their Clydesdale horses here today for the community to take a look at up close and personal,” Rockwell said.

Despite this being the third annual Clydesdale Event, this one is set to leave an impact on the youth of Santa Clarita Valley.

“What’s really special about this particular day is that we have purchased an Express Clydesdale for Carousel Ranch,” Rockwell said. “He will be in service as a therapy horse.”

In addition to guests being able to meet the different horses, visitors were able to have their photo taken with the horse, as well as a silent auction with proceeds benefiting Carousel Ranch.

“We are really fortunate to have a long term partnership with Express Professionals,” said Denise Redmond, executive director of Carousel Ranch.

EX Deckers Nash still has training to do with Carousel Ranch for at least another year before getting to work with children as a therapy horse, Redmond said.

The eight black and white Express Clydesdales participated in the 2020 Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena on New Year’s Day and Equestfest on Dec. 29, 2019, an event that allows people to get up close to the 2020 Rose Parade equestrian units, according to officials.
