The 2022 KHTS Sacramento Trip kicked off Tuesday morning with a charter bus full of Santa Clarita community leaders, educators and students, all ready for a two-day deep-dive into the current status of our state government.
The 15th Annual Sacramento Trip, delayed by nearly three years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, finally rolled out of the Newhall Metrolink Station early Tuesday morning, bringing a busload of interested Santa Clarita community members to visit the state capitol.
While some of this year’s participants have elected to fly to Sacramento, many have chosen to take a charter bus together, a tradition of the trip that allows bus riders to meet one another and talk about issues in their areas of expertise ahead of the trip’s sessions.
With a combination of educators, business professionals, concerned residents and high school students, the KHTS Sacramento Road Trip offers an opportunity for Santa Clarita residents and business owners to get an inside look at the policies affecting their community.
“Over 1,000 Santa Clarita leaders have participated in our KHTS Sacramento trip over the years,” said KHTS owner Carl Goldman. “Senator Scott Wilk and his staff have scheduled a stellar line-up of speakers. We’re looking forward to a tremendous variety of sessions tomorrow.”
Bus passengers also had the opportunity to do radio interviews with KHTS Co-News Director Jade Aubuchon and Video Director Andrew Menjivar, sharing their hopes and excitement for the upcoming speakers in the next 36 hours.
The interviews will be broadcast on KHTS 98.1FM/AM1220, as well as being made available on the KHTS Hometown Station website after the conclusion of the road trip.

Hopefully, he takes the message that the Progressive agenda has been a complete and abject failure to the quality of life throughout CA; Inflation, gas prices, crime, and homelessness, (all started BEFORE Ukraine and Covid is also a false cause). We have to dramatically change course in this state or the results will continue to deteriorate just as we have seen in every other state and country that has gone down this path.
I for one completely agree, and to have the same progressives that are messing up this state run for national office would be very bad for out country. I’m in favor of a Constitutional Convention that implements several items.
#1 Term Limits for Congress
#2 That Congress can not pass any bill that affects the people, and does not affect the members of congress
#3 the repeal of the Citizens United Decision that alowed SuperPacs and gave our nation to the “Highest Bidder”.
Lets all get together and (peacefully) help our nation be the shining star of the world.
And we need to get more serious about climate change. The evidence of human influence is there, and the course of our future depends on admitting that we need to do things differently, for the good of all.
Who caused the last Ice Age?
How did they fix that?
Let’s start the next one.
I have been here for 86 years, and every summer is hot, and every winter is cold. Geez! Stop with the crap already!
I guess you’re joking.
