In the spring of 1975 Herb Shreve established The Christian Motorcyclists Association (CMA) after identifying a massive crowd of motorcyclists did not know Jesus Christ as their Savior nor had heard the Gospel. Today, CMA has chapters all around the world with their International branch, 1,000 chapters in the US alone, and one right here local to the Santa Clarita Valley, the Golgotha Riders.

An Organization For All Christians

The Christian Motorcyclists Association is a non-profit, interdenominational organization that has a simple vision, “Changing the world, one heart at a time.” The CMA doctrinal statement adheres to its interdenominational practices but is evangelical in nature.

This doctrine includes the Bible as the sole Word of God, One God existent in three bodies as the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, and salvation through the blood of Jesus Christ, amongst other things.

CMA describe themselves not as a motorcycle club, but instead as a ministry, with Jesus Christ as its cornerstone. The primary code in the Christian Motorcyclists Association is Evangelism, however the organization also notes that one does not need to strictly be of this denomination, as many are a part of CMA purely for the fun and the fellowship.

The Christian Motorcyclists Association are heavily involved in local and national events, not just to spread the Gospel and the love of Jesus Christ, but where they are needed, they are there. Anything from motorcycling events, inmate outreach, garbage pickup, flagging races and outreach programs such as their Youth Movement program are essential to their organization.

The Christian Motorcyclists Association is an organized ministry, which means they have members everywhere, from any of the 1,000 chapters in the nation to chapters in any of the more than 40 countries around the world. The Golgotha Riders are the CMA chapter for the San Fernando Valley, but also serve the Santa Clarita Valley by providing a Christian fellowship ride group and encouraging all riders to live and act by biblical and Christian values.
