The City of Santa Clarita’s DFYIT (Drug Free Youth in Town) Program is hosting “X-Week” at 15 local junior high and high schools to encourage teens to pledge drug-free.
In the coming weeks, current members of DFYIT clubs throughout Santa Clarita will host anti-drug and anti-alcohol activities at lunchtime to bring awareness to other students on their campuses. Students can also learn about the DFYIT program and commit to a drug-free life by signing the DFYIT pledge banner which currently bears more than 4,000 names.
DFYIT is a free, school-based, voluntary, anti-drug club for high school teens. The club is run by kids, for kids, allowing teens to thrive in a drug-free setting with like-minded peers. Since its launch in Santa Clarita in 2012, DFYIT has reached thousands of youth by spreading the program’s drug-free message through events, speaker engagements and activities both on and off school campuses.
DFYIT is a collaborative effort among the City of Santa Clarita, the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Department, Los Angeles County and the William S. Hart Union High School District.
