The inaugural KHTS Antelope Valley Sacramento Road Trip kicked off Monday morning with a charter bus full of community leaders, educators and students from the Antelope Valley.
The first ever KHTS Antelope Valley Sacramento Road Trip is consists of dozens of Antelope Valley leaders representing a wide variety of the community.
While some participants have elected to fly to Sacramento, many have chosen to take a charter bus together, a tradition carried over from the Santa Clarita Sacramento Road Trip that allows bus riders to meet one another and talk about issues in their areas of expertise ahead of the trip’s sessions.
During the drive up north, riders on the bus will also have the opportunity to sit down with KHTS After Hours News Director Michael Brown to talk about why they make the long trek.
The interviews will be available on the KHTS Hometown Station website after the conclusion of the road trip.
Sponsors for the historic trip include State Senator Scott Wilk, State Assemblyman Tom Lackey, SoCal Edison, SoCalGas and the Antelope Valley East Kern Water Agency.
The trip is based off the highly successful Santa Clarita Sacramento Road Trip, which just finished up its 14th trip in March.
