KHTS Radio is hitting the road once again as local leaders from across the Santa Clarita Valley prepare to travel to the State Capitol for the 17th Annual KHTS Sacramento Road Trip.
The Sacramento Trip organized by KHTS FM 98.1 & AM-1220 in partnership with State Senator Suzette Martinez Valladares, the annual trip brings together a delegation of community leaders to meet directly with lawmakers and discuss issues impacting the Santa Clarita Valley.
The two-day trip, scheduled for Monday and Tuesday March 9–10, continues a long-standing tradition of bringing the Santa Clarita Valley’s most pressing concerns directly to decision-makers in Sacramento.
“I am thrilled to partner with KHTS to bring back the KHTS Sacramento Road Trip,” Valladares said in a previous statement. “It has been a powerful annual event since 2005. We are honored to build upon Senator Wilk’s legacy and look forward to making the 2026 trip a truly memorable experience.”
Over the years, the trip has brought more than 1,000 Santa Clarita Valley leaders to the Capitol to gain insight into the legislative process and advocate for the region.
“Over the past three decades, we’ve traveled with more than 1,000 Santa Clarita community leaders who took time out of their busy lives to get a glimpse behind the curtain of our state government,” said KHTS co-owner Carl Goldman.

The delegation typically includes a bipartisan group of business leaders, elected officials, educators and nonprofit representatives.
“Our trip is very bipartisan,” Goldman said. “We travel with liberals and conservatives alike. The delegation includes business owners, elected officials, educators, and nonprofit leaders.”
Throughout the trip, participants will meet with several state officials and policy leaders to discuss issues affecting the region, including education, water, infrastructure, business and public services.
Scheduled speakers and meetings this year include Assemblyman Tom Lackey, Assemblywoman Anamarie Farias, Senator Roger Niello, Assemblywoman Pilar Schiavo and California Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara.
Participants are also expected to hear from policy and industry leaders including Jodie Muller, president and CEO of the Western States Petroleum Association, California State Librarian Greg Lucas, State Water Contractors General Manager Jennifer Pierre, California Business Roundtable President Rob Lapsley, Senate President pro Tempore Monique Limón, Senate Minority Leader Brian Jones and Sacramento County Sheriff Jim Cooper.
Founded in 2005 by the late Assemblyman Keith Richman and Goldman, the Sacramento Road Trip was created to help bridge the gap between local communities and state leadership.
KHTS FM 98.1 & AM-1220 plans to publish updates on social media throughout the trip, sharing interviews with listeners and posting coverage on the KHTS website to give the Santa Clarita Valley an inside look at the experience.

Sorry I missed it. Got a certificate from then Assemblyman Wilk acknowledging my 10th Road Trip. Did a few more before retiring in 2021.
Good to see new blood engaged in the issues and opportunities and
making the trip!
