There is nothing worse than being wrongly accused of something you did not do; and if that thing you have been wrongly accused of is a serious crime, it can be a complete nightmare. If you have been wrongly accused and convicted of a crime you did not commit, you should never give up hope or stop fighting to defend your innocence. There are laws and systems in place to help those who have been falsely accused of crimes and felonies to get their full rights and lives back. If you’re accused of a crime you did not commit, you must never speak to the police or any other party involved without the presence of an experienced lawyer. Without further ado, here are some tips to help you get out of a wrongful conviction and get back to your normal life.
1. Gather Evidence
The first step you will need to take when you are trying to clear your name after a wrongful conviction is to gather all the evidence you can that’s relevant to the case. If you can gather as much evidence as possible, you will improve your chances of convincing the court or the jury that you’re innocent. Make sure all the evidence you gather is accurate so that you do not end up in even more trouble, as you will if the evidence turns out to be fabricated. Anything you present in court should be truthful, even if it does not look like it may be in your favor. The more accurate your evidence is, the better your chances are of walking away from your case. That is why it is important you take your time collecting and double-checking every little piece of evidence before presenting it in court. Luckily, you don’t have to do this yourself, as long as you have an experienced attorney who is fighting on your side.
2. Contact an Experienced Attorney
The legal system in California is fairly simple and straightforward; however, if you do not have any legal background, everything can sound like a foreign language to you. The key to going about your case swiftly and managing to clear your name without a hassle is to start looking for California appeal Lawyers who can help you with your case. An experienced attorney will know what to do in every situation and can help you clear your name and get out of your wrongful conviction. There may be a lot of legal documents and arguments involved that you do not fully understand, but your lawyer should have enough knowledge and experience to help you manage all of that and fight strongly to defend your innocence.

3. Find Witnesses
In order to clear your name and prove your innocence following a wrongful conviction, you have to have some backup during your appeal sessions. It is essential that you have enough witnesses who are all telling the story of what actually happened in your case and that their story is consistent with your narrative. You should try to find different witnesses (the more, the better) to strengthen your case and tell the court what really happened to prove your innocence. Your witnesses can be anyone from people who were there when you were first accused to professionals and experts who can support your case. The key is to have witnesses who will tell accurate stories without any fabrication to ensure your name is cleared legally once and for all.
4. Check for Misconduct
A lot of the time the main cause of wrongful convictions is legal misconduct that then leads to innocent people being falsely accused of crimes they did not commit. If you think you have been wrongfully convicted, and you do not understand why it has happened, then it could be a result of legal misconduct. In which case, you should be eligible for an appeal. Countersuing for compensation may also be something to consider. Make sure you have an experienced lawyer by your side who can dig into legal misconduct to see why you were convicted in the first place and help you get your full rights restored.
Being convicted of a crime you did not commit can be quite difficult for any innocent person. However, you should not feel like you have lost everything just because you were wrongfully convicted. You can still appeal the conviction and clear your name in court. The key to proving your innocence is sticking to your accurate story and supporting that story with strong evidence and witness testimony. Make sure you have an experienced attorney by your side to defend you and help you clear your name.

My son was wrongfully accused for texting a minor there was no sex or nothing involved but now he sets his time in prison for texting
My son was convicted of rape and sexual assult. It supposedly happened 8 years ago. He has denied this ever happened. There was no investigation and expert witnesses was not allowed to testify. He is facing years in jail for something that never happened. He did not get any where near a fair trial.
My son was wrongfully accused for texting a minor there was no sex or nothing involved but now he sets his time in prison for texting it’s really sad because our judges and prosecuting attorneys don’t even care all they want to do is throw people in jail or in prison they don’t have anybody to do any detective work to find out if it is true or false accusations which makes it really sad for the people that are being accused
Good luck with finding a lawyer because they don’t care either it’s about is the money to them they could care if you are being falsely accused if you’re guilty if you’re not guilty they don’t care they just in it for the money they don’t even care to prove your innocent then if you have a lawyer like my son did court appointed yeah right they’re all for the court they will not help you they’re just to help the courts out pretty sad that it’s just all about the money who cares if they’re being wrongly accused something needs to be done about our system which is unfair to everyone
