Celebrating In The City Of Angels

Right now everything we are experiencing locally, nationally, and globally can feel very heavy, and can weigh us down physically, emotionally, and spiritually. We can feel disconnected and isolated from others and many of us even feel lonely but the good news is that this is not the end of the story.

As a community, we are standing together while staying at home and finding ways to carve out moments of hope and joy. There are many heartwarming stories coming out of our Los Angeles which prove we are a loving community of people. We can deepen our relationships and celebrate what is really important in life: Family, Community, and Connection.

Family Celebrations:

Expectant parents are being hit especially hard now that we all are being asked to keep physically separated. One way to respond to this is to find ways to celebrate these milestones while keeping physically distant. For example, some might consider a Gender Reveal event as a way to celebrate with family members. This is an exciting way to allow everyone to feel a part of the celebration of new children no matter how far apart physically everyone finds themselves to be.

For those who have young children, we might consider how we get others involved with orchestrating birthday celebrations that are meaningful. For older children, we might want to find creative ways to celebrate personal milestones. As our children become more self-aware about their own identities, we might use a Gender Reveal Confetti Cannon to share discoveries they make about themselves with others. We might also want to celebrate graduations and how our children are taking steps into a new phase of life.

Anniversaries are another wonderful event we can celebrate. With the number of restaurants which are now available online you can have each person involved order food, beverages, and even something sweet. After everyone has their food hop onto a video chat and hang out and tell stories of the ones celebrating the anniversary. For many of us the best way to celebrate is simply to connect with family and friends over good food, and good conversation..

Community Celebrations:

One way we are celebrating here in The City of Angels is by celebrating and supporting our first responders and health care workers. We have been able to locally see an outpouring of support for all those who are keeping us safe in these times. In these times we must do everything we can to celebrate those who are fighting every day to keep us and our communities safe and healthy.

We have also been celebrating those on the front lines by providing necessary supplies. Individuals and businesses have been donating PPE as well as providing free meals. Donations have been coming from individuals and groups of all sizes which is showing that if we work together, sharing what we have, we can have a large impact.

In addition, the whole community has been coming together to help celebrate with those who would otherwise be alone. Communities have had social distancing parades to celebrate those getting out of the hospital or finished chemo. Communities have had rainbow and teddy bears searches for kids. Communities have been organizing singing events and making music, theater, and the arts available to us all even while we all shelter in place.

As a community, we are standing together and creating moments of hope and joy. There are many heartwarming stories coming out of our Los Angeles which prove we are a loving community of people. These are tough times for us all but these times are providing us the opportunity to become truly the city of angels. Let us continue to celebrate what is really important in our lives: Family, Community, and Connection.
