During this unprecedented global virus outbreak, most people feared for their lives and resorted to quarantine measures to avoid infection or spreading the virus for the infected. However, quarantines alone could not effectively fight against the virus. More needed to be accomplished outside the same enclosure of individual homes. A good number of heroic volunteers came out and risked their lives being in the frontline of the outbreaks to take care of these vital activities for the benefit of the broader population.

Medical Staff Including Nurses and Doctors

Governments around the world needed the help of medical staff to implement most of their countermeasures to fight the pandemic. This situation meant that even though most of the individuals were under quarantine and working from home, the medical staff would need to frequently interact with other patients, including the infected people, to help in the disease management. As much as the new COVID -19 virus had no specific cure, there was still a need for medical attention and nursing services to infected individuals and casualties in need of the medical services.

The majority of nurses and doctors in the free states volunteered to participate in such activities. Medical assistants also had a role to play in maintaining the crisis. You can read more articles from experts who recognize medical assistants and their career progression. It’s important to insist that the level of expertise plays a major role in the scope of work they can indulge in the healthcare industry. It would be essential that medical assistants broaden their scope to cater to even more corona victims. The Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO) in Canada, for example, reached out to the nurses requesting volunteers to help in the Telehealth program and remote diagnosis. Within a day, they had received thousands of responses, including retired nurses and nurses with other jobs.

First Responders

These groups include people providing emergency services to people across various fields, including firefighters, EMTs, and other emergency responders. It is possible that if such incidents are not properly managed, they might lead to more significant damage than the one caused by the virus already. Some of the ambulance services continue to provide emergency services to patients, including some who report cases of high fever and difficulty in breathing, which are the main symptoms of the COVID 19 virus. While such cases are treated with specialized care, they still present a higher risk to the individuals of contracting the disease, but again, the many staff has braved the situation to provide this essential service while taking preventive measures.

Shopping cartGrocery Shop Workers

In most countries that have implemented the quarantine and work from home policies, the grocery shops have stayed open to help sustain the nutritional needs of the country. Individuals who keep working at these outlets continue to risk their own lives for the service of others. Working in this environment would mean they have to interact with other individuals, some of who may be infected by the virus. Many countries have openly expressed their gratitude to grocery shop operators for continuing to provide for their nutritional needs during the quarantine.

Cleaners and Delivery Drivers

Amidst the fight of the epidemic, there are still essential services needed at various sectors that are in the frontline of the battle. These include cleaning services and delivery services.
