Electric Shaver Market Growing More Rapidly Than Wet Shaving

Have you been noticing that in the past few years, men’s grooming products have been growing? Well, with the rise in popularity of having a full beard, well-shaped facial hair, and a perfect hairline, men have been looking for ways to keep up with their chosen styles. This has led to a boom of products that help them maintain their hair better than ever.

Within this growing market, we have also seen a greater number of electric shavers become the grooming tool of choice. Compared to wet shaving, men have begun using electric shavers more often and are continuing to purchase them when needed. So, why is this electric shaver market so much more popular than wet-shaving?

Growing Popularity of the Electric Shaver

As mentioned, there has recently been a push for men to take more pride and effort in their appearance, and with this trend, men have begun spending more time and money in switching up their styles. Although there is already been a big increase in men’s spending on grooming products, the grooming industry expects another 3.5% rise within the next few years.

So, with so many types of shavers, why are these electric shavers getting all the attention? Well, there are a few main reasons why they have become more popular, and why men are switching over for good and leaving wet shaving in the dust.

Faster Shave Times

Electric shavers save you time, which is something that many busy fathers and husbands want. Taking a long time to shave takes time away from having breakfast with your family, or having coffee with your partner. When you have less time in the morning to get ready for work, you don’t want to spend more time shaving, so time is a major factor and this is where electric shavers shine.

With an electric shaver, you can shave quickly and get out the door without having to think about it too much. With wet shaving, you would have to take more time to make sure you don’t nick yourself or miss an area of hair. So, the electric options are better for busier men who don’t have the time to do a slow and deliberate shave each morning.

They Are Cheaper (In the Long Run)

Wet shaving may seem like a cheap option at first, but normal razors are not very durable and have to be replaced fairly often. This adds up throughout the year and can end up costing more than the higher initial price of an electric shaver. Because disposable razors are made of plastic, this also creates more waste, which could rub environmentally-conscious customers the wrong way.

Electric options may cost more at first, but with fewer replacements, you can end up spending less over time. You could save money by not needing to purchase shaving cream and by needing fewer replacements, and you will spend less over a few years than you would with continual purchases for wet shaving.

Good For Those With Sensitive Skin

With products that have to do with your skin, customers with sensitive skin have to be careful. You wouldn’t want to switch over to a method of shaving that causes problems with your skin that you will have to repair by switching back to your previous method.

Well, the good thing about electric shavers is that they are safe for sensitive skin. Rotary shavers better than foil shavers on the skin, though, and offer the same type of irritation-proof shaving.

While wet shaving gives you a close shave and the water helps to give your skin a barrier between the razor and your skin, electric shavers (and especially the rotary shavers) also give a fairly close shave without irritating your skin. They offer a much lower chance of getting cuts or nicks, which can add extra irritation to sensitive skin and give better protection than wet shaving.

Looking Toward the Future

With such enormous growth in electric shaver purchases, men’s grooming products are being bought up at higher rates than ever before. With this trend getting even more popular, what can we expect looking forward?

Well, industry professionals believe that we will continue to see more growth in men’s grooming, as we talked about before, so we can expect to see more products being made and sold to men. This can create better shavers with more innovative technology and may also help men get more competitive prices on their products as more are made.

The popularity of electric shavers doesn’t seem like it will be slowing down anytime soon, and it will likely become even more accessible and have a greater variety of options to choose from in the near future. So, men will be able to find a product that is exactly what they have been looking for.

Conclusion

Electric shavers are gaining traction in the men’s grooming industry and seem to be where the future of this business is heading as well. With all of the benefits that come with these types of shavers, it is easy to see why they are growing so quickly.

With wet shaving being a more time-consuming and higher-priced option, other choices for shaving are taking over. So, although electric shavers might be more expensive up front, they might just be the biggest thing in shaving than the wet shave itself.
