It’s the year 2020, and this start of a new decade is all about revamping and starting fresh! Out with the old and in with the new, and the best place to start is in your very own home. Modern home trends this year are absolutely inspiring and we want you to get the first pick of the goods! If you are ready for a dream makeover to start, then we have got you covered! Get inspired by these modern house designs that everyone wants a piece of.

Hybrid Flooring

Hybrid flooring is the new trend of 2020 and it does not disappoint. Get rid of your old tiles that never looked clean despite copious amounts of scrubbing, and opt for an attractive replacement. When looking for hybrid floors for your home, make sure you feel the texture of the planks; a good brand will feel exactly as it looks. Hybrid flooring is not only easier to maintain, but it really enhances the look of a room and gives it that modern, spacious style that everyone dreams of and posts on their Pinterest pages.

Vintage Accents

Mixing a little old-school with a modern design is on trend this year. From patina accents in your dining room to covering one wall with floral wallpaper, a little vintage touch in certain areas of the home is sure to make it pop and give it the 2020 makeover it requires. Antique art is another big trend that everyone is adopting in their homes; these vintage accents strategically placed in a modern home really make it stand out.

Colorful Kitchens

The all-white kitchen is so 2019! Everyone is now ready to spruce up their kitchen with colorful cabinets and darker countertops. You spend a lot of time in the kitchen, from making meals  to hosting family gatherings and dinner parties, so make this room an enjoyable place to be in. Lack of color can make a dull room and a bore to be in, adding this pop of color is going to brighten up the place and give it the vibrant feel you want people to experience when they enter the room.

Canopy Beds

An inspiring twist on the canopy bed is exactly what you need this year. Canopy beds no longer need to be taking up space with their chunky headboards or surrounded by 4 pillars; they don’t need to be draped in heavy, old fashioned fabrics either. You can now get your dream canopy bed with a modern touch of soft, light layers, and thin headboards. A modern canopy bed is also lower to the ground, which makes your bedroom appear a lot more spacious. Alternatively, you can opt for a ceiling canopy to achieve the same look if you’re on a tight budget.

Curvy Furniture

Curvy furniture is one of the best designs you need to incorporate into your home. You don’t need to follow the guidelines of rectangular coffee tables and square bedside tables, and as much as we loved the L-shape sofa, there’s nothing wrong with changing it up for 2020. The curvy sofa, coffee tables, and night stands are not only pleasing to the eye, but they are also capable of fitting into any space a lot easier than a sharp-edged piece of furniture. In fact, curvy furniture is not entirely new, it was quite popular during the 60s and 70s; however, today it embodies a modern twist that will capture the luxurious design of your home.

Full-length Windows

Full-length glass windows have been around for quite a bit now in modern society. However, this year’s take on the full-length glass window will transform your home like no other; the new trend is to divide your glass windows into sections but that’s not all. Why restrict this beautiful transparent design to windows? This year, the transparent look is taking the world by storm in the form of gates, doors, and even walls. Choosing one side of the wall in your dining room to be completely transparent does not only help you embrace the view, but it also makes the room appear larger. This design is now applied onto doors, especially balcony doors and even garden gates.

These modern house designs will not only enhance the style of your home, but are sure to inspire you in your day-to-day life. After all, breakfast on your colorful kitchen counter, the aura of your antique artwork and dancing on your hybrid floors are sure to inspire you to bask in the glory of this wonderful year!
