Getting around these days can be such a struggle. With the increasing traffic on the road, it’s only sensible to think of other modes of travel that will help you get to your destination faster. If you’re looking for a fun way to explore your local trails or an easier way to commute, an e-bike is worth considering. Listed down below are the advantages of an electric bike or electric mountain bike over its conventional counterpart.
Speed
Most e-bikes are faster than regular bicycles. As a matter of fact, they can get up to speeds of 50km/h. While going downhill might be at a similar speed with both regular bikes or e-bikes, on the flats and uphills it is a different story. This is where the added help from a battery-powered electric motor will make the difference. The professionals behind QuietKat e-bikes say that this mode of transportation can be used in three different modes. You can use it with the motor off and just pedal like a normal bike. The pedal assist mode will give you added help from the motor while you also pedal. In the last mode, you can also just use the electric motor and not pedal at all.
With assistance from the motor while pedaling on flats and uphills you will be going faster than what a regular bicycle can comfortably do with just peddling. This means faster commute times. It also means less tiring and quicker trips for you.
Less Effort
An e-bike needs less effort from the rider to get to the destination. This has many practical benefits in everyday use. If you are a less experienced or aging cyclist it means you can keep up with younger or fitter cyclists. Doing a cycle tour or going for a recreational ride could be a great advantage. If you are using an e-bike for commuting this is also a major advantage. This means getting to work less tired and sweaty. You can always mostly rely on the electric motor to get to work and then mostly pedal on the way back. With this strategy, you can get to work feeling fresh, but get a great workout on the way home.
Range
An e-bike will extend the range for commuting and general cycling trips. The added help from the electric motor will extend the distance that you can comfortably do. If your destination for your regular commute is just out of range of what you can comfortably cycle with a regular bike, then having an e-bike will put your destination within your range.

Professional cyclists can do very long trips with a bicycle, but a regular commuter or recreational cyclist will benefit from the added range that an e-bike will provide.
Even if you own a regular bike, you might still be using your car just because some trips are slightly longer than you are comfortable with cycling. You will now be able to do these trips with an e-bike.
Downhill MTB
This is specific to downhill mountain bikers, but it is very relevant if you fall in that category. If you like bombing down mountain trails an e-bike will open up more possibilities for you. Downhill mountain bikers usually go to trails that are serviced by ski lifts or need a vehicle to transport them back up to the top of the mountain. With a downhill MTB e-bike, you can use the motor for getting back up the mountain. This is great if you are only interested in the downhill riding part.
Environmentally Friendly
E-bikes are more environmentally friendly than using a car, motorcycle, or public transport, but how is it more environmentally friendly than a regular bicycle? In short, it makes more trips possible.
Cyclists using normal bicycles will often opt for using their cars or public transport due to the practicality of it. A trip might just be too far to comfortably complete with a regular bicycle. You might also have some items to carry and it will make you work harder cycling with a backpack or panniers and in the end, you just use another vehicle. You might not like the idea of getting to your destination tired and sweaty. This is another reason to just hop on public transport or get in a vehicle.
Owning an electric bicycle will give you another option. You could do some of these trips described above easily with an e-bike. It is also easier carrying some items in a backpack and panniers without getting as tired due to the electric motor helping you out, especially in areas or countries where a large portion of electricity is generated through renewable energy. It is even more eco-friendly using an electric vehicle. You might even have solar power at your home you can use to charge the e-bike.
If any of the above advantages address your issues with regular bicycles, you should consider getting an electric bicycle. They are fun to use, economical, and helps preserve the environment, among others. With the help of an e-bike, you can get to your destination safely and in the fastest time possible.

There are times when I have to stop and pick up heavier items for my job and sometimes my family. Most of these are small stops. I love how you suggested that electric bikes can eliminate the aversion to using a bike when you have to carry some of these things because the motor can take away some of the strenuous efforts. I also agree with what you said about how it can save you from being sweaty. I don’t like to return to work sweaty and tired. I am now in the market for an electric bike to save on the high price of gas costs and the energy it takes for me to pump while getting around.
