The Senior Hour – April 19, 2017

SCV Senior Center

“I encourage you to drop in and observe the activities and experience all the energy and enthusiasm that exists here each day. I also invite you to meet with me or one of my knowledgeable, friendly and dedicated staff members to learn more about the Senior Center, take a tour of the facility, and if you are not already, become a member of our active community.

The SCV Senior Center is a vibrant place and full of life. It has a distinguished legacy that we can all be very proud of. I am very excited and honored to lead the Senior Center to even greater success in the years ahead.”

SCV Senior Center Programs

What is your best program [at the Senior Center]?

Kevin MacDonald: It may not exactly be a program but it is definitely the volunteering, it is important and needed and great for seniors to be helping other seniors, “as we age together we want our friends to be around us, and many of those friends will be volunteering.”

Home Delivered Meals

About 240 people receive home-delivered meals, daily. You can always call 661-259-9444 for information if you or someone you know would like to see if they qualify for the program.

How can the SCV Senior Center serve better?

“The senior population in this area will double by 2030, so we are always looking ahead … to see how we can best guide them and help them.” – Kevin MacDonald

Adult Daycare Program for Alzheimer’s

8am to 1pm Monday through Friday

“New tables, new chairs and a big screen TV.” – MacDonald
