Eye On The Valley – iLEAD Online & SCV EDC –  September 29, 2023

On today’s episode of Eye on the Valley, host Matt Watson begins the show by welcoming Cindy Williams, Academic Coach at ileadonline.org Learning.

Cindy is in her 10th year of working with learners through their online program. Through this fully accredited and free program, students K-12 can work with a facilitator who acts as an academic coach in order to guide the student in their classes.

iLEADonline offers school programs by working with outside vendors to match the student with tailored and personalized learning for those students who may learn differently or require a different approach through an IEP, 504 plan, or if they are involved in sports or working in the industry.

In order to enroll in courses, view their calendar and class catalogs go to ileadonline.org for more information.

In hour two, Matt talks with Jey Wagner, the President and CEO of Santa Clarita Valley Economic Development Corporation. At the SCV EDC, Jey works to facilitate industry and quality of life improvements by encouraging businesses to build and grow locally.

Together, with the city of Santa Clarita, they work to improve new roads, build homes and grow industrial areas which altogether encourage our residents to find employment in their own neighborhood. Recently, Logix Credit Union relocated to SCV along with DrinkPak and Vallarta Supermarkets. Previous businesses who have chosen to reside in SCV are of aerospace, bioscience, digital and entertainment. SCV is seeing an increase in population rising above 300 thousand and continues to grow.

SCV is a great choice for your business due to low taxes, including utility, parking, payroll and business license taxes. Jey also discusses the future of the Valencia Town Center, as Centennial made the recent purchase and vows to keep the property as a living, retail and food space reimagined for the local community.

Go to SCVEDC.org to take a virtual tour on information regarding demographics, incentive guides to bring business here, local trends to watch and quick fact links.
