Senior Hour – December 30, 2015
Today’s episode of the Senior Hour Barbara and Gene welcome Sam Silver and Etta Martin to the program. Sam is an army veteran who works incredibly hard to give back as much as he can to help other veterans or service members.
Etta has an inspiring story, her thirst for life helps her inspire the people she works with at the SCV SRC where she leads cognitive brain function groups, emotional grief and support groups, etc to help keep her fellow seniors stay stimulated and feeling as positive as they possibly can. Recently retired, Etta started her career in her 50’s after graduating from USC with her Master’s Degree.

“Samuel Silver is a Homes for Heroes affiliate realtor in Santa Clarita who gives 25 percent of his gross commission back to Firefighters, Police, First Responders, Nurses, Teachers, Veterans and Military Service Members who buy a house or sell a house through him. The money is given as a credit at the end of escrow, and is designed to help the community’s heroes with real estate closing costs. Also Sam gives another 5% to the Homes For Heroes Foundation in order to help those heroes in need of housing assistance. In addition, Sam Silver is distributing 1,000 “365 Signature Cards” valued at $20 each to SCV children’s nonprofits, who have the opportunity to sell them to the public and keep the proceeds to further their mission.”
