On this episode of The “Listed by Mina Kuper” Radio Show, Mina welcomes Armine Baltazar and Patricia De Fonte to the show. Mina starts off the show by talking with Armie about the emotional side of divorce. Armine says it is important for two people divorcing to try to be as collaborative as possible. She also says it is essential to get lawyers but sign a contract saying you will not take each other to court, and try to work it out together. It can be difficult to separate your emotions from the divorce and not just look at the divorce as black and white. Later in the show, Patricia De Fonte joins in to talk about the process of estate planning. Patricia says that everyone has an estate plan provided by the state they live in. The estate plan set by the state decides by bloodline who gets your items and control of your finances if you are unable to take care of yourself or pass away. The way you avoid the default plan is to sign documents that give the people you trust the authority to do exactly what it is they want you to do.
