Today on the Senior Hour,Dr. Dorio and Barbara Cochran take some time to discuss the impact that grandparents and their grandchildren have on each others lives, and the importance of passing on and remembering family history by sitting down with Margie Veis the Executive Director at Oakmont of Santa Clarita. Additionally they are discussing the various forms of care and health assistance the Santa Clarita Valley provides to our senior citizens for their mental health needs. Gene and Barbara also welcome back Micheal Dougherty from the Beharial Health Center at Henry Mayo located right here in the Santa Clarita Valley, stops by to help spread awareness of the millions of senior citizens currently suffering from un-diagnosed mental health issues.
The entire month of September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, and dont forget September 11 is not only a day to honor the heroes of that fateful day but also a day to honor a bit of our personal history as it is National Grandparents Day.
