A Mandatory Vaccine? — May 6, 2020

On this episode of The Senior Hour with Dr. Gene Dorio and Barbara Cochran, Dr. Thomas Polucki, DC, calls in to the show to talk about the possibility of a global vaccine and the challenges of making something like this mandatory. With so much more to learn about Covid-19, doctors and researchers are figuring out the best way to combat Covid-19 moving forward. When a vaccine is developed, will it really be necessary for everyone to receive it? Dr. Polucki and Dr. Dorio talk about the number of healthy people who have been exposed to the virus, and whether those people actually need the vaccine if their body has already naturally developed the antibodies. Listen to their discussion about the need for a global vaccine in the first half of today’s show.

Our next guest on the show is Nola Aronson, MA, CCC-A, of Advanced Audiology. Nola calls in to the show to talk about how important hearing is to our overall health, and how Advanced Audiology has adapted their services to continue helping seniors in Santa Clarita. Advanced Audiology has a drop-off system in place that allows them to still serve some of their customers. Nola talks about how they have also purchased the necessary supplies (plexi-glass barriers, hand sanitizer, PPE, etc) to help prepare their store for reopening. Listen to everything Nola and Advanced Audiology is doing to help the community in the second half of today’s show.
