The Senior Hour – Heart Health Awareness Month And The UnGunn – February 8, 2023

On this episode of The Senior Hour, host Barbara Cochran and Dr. Thomas Polucki welcome in special guests Dr. James Lee and Dr. Woodworth from Henry Mayo Newhall in addition to Curt Waite to discuss the UnGunn by Byrna Technologies!

Barbara and Dr. Polucki open the show by chatting with Dr. Lee and Dr. Woodworth about heart health awareness month. Dr. Woodworth is a breast surgeon but is all too familiar with the affects that cancer and other conditions can have on the heart. Further, Dr. Lee is a cardiologist and discusses the importance of taking care of your health prior to incurring dangerous heart issues.

Dr. Lee says that other than exercise, perhaps the most important way to protect yourself against heart attacks and other conditions is based on your eating habits. Dr. Lee mentions that our culture is infatuated with food and the experience that comes with it, often overlooking the nutritional values they lack. Because of this, Dr. Lee says a balanced diet with a healthy amount of vegetables and low in fats is the best way to protect yourself against future heart issues.

Later, Curt Waite joins the show to discuss the UnGunn by Byrna technologies. The UnGunn is a non-lethal weapon that discharges a CO2 projectile that can ward off danger. He mentions that seniors have particularly found the UnGunn useful strictly in self defense purposes, mainly thanks to the in-person training courses that he provides to the Santa Clarita Valley.
