The Futbol Foundation of Santa Clarita donated a $1,000 check to the Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital Sheila R. Veloz Breast Center in October, officials said.
Team members of the Futbol Foundation of Santa Clarita presented a check to Henry Mayo Newhall Foundation President Marlee Lauffer for $1,000 during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.
“The Futbol Foundation is committed to defeating breast cancer,” officials with the Futbol Foundation of Santa Clarita said. “This past October, our teams raised funds from their annual pink jersey campaign to support the Sheila R. Veloz Breast Center. They proudly wore pink ribbon jerseys at every October game to show support and help make a difference in our community.”
Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital officials said they are grateful for the donation, and they are also thankful for the impression the Futbol Foundation of Santa Clarita is trying to set on youth.
“Our generous supporters come from all age groups,” Lauffer said. “We’re so grateful to the Futbol Foundation, not only for their gift, but also for helping to teach their youth about the great impact philanthropy has on our community.”
