Two people were killed in an accident in which at least one vehicle was travelling over 80 mph on Vasquez Canyon Road at about 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon….
Apparently a 24-year-old Canyon Country man overcompensated for drifting off the road in his car and struck a pickup truck driven by an 18 year-old female. Both drivers were killed on the scene.
Another driver, a 28 year-old man, was injured as well.
It was determined that speed was the primary cause of the accident. Motorists often travel much faster than the speed limit on the twisty windy road that is Vasquez Canyon.
