Friends of the Agua Dulce sheriff’s deputy killed Thursday in a motorcycle collision while he was on patrol said he was the type of person who would do anything for anyone. Pierre Bain, 45, died of massive internal injuries after he flew off his motorcycle when he clipped a vehicle that cut him off while he was in pursuit near the intersection of 20th Street and Avenue K in Lancaster, sheriff’s officials said. He is survived by his wife, Diana Bain, and three daughters — Chantal, 20, Kristina, 19, and Alicia, 17 — all from a previous marriage. “I had never heard anyone have such wonderful admiration for their spouse,” said Jody Watson, a friend and co-worker of Diana Bain. “He was a wonderful fun-loving guy (who) always seemed to have a smile on his face,” said Doug Sutton, who works with Bain’s wife. Sutton said Chantal Bain has been serving in the military in Iraq and was home for a few weeks when news of his death was announced. He said the death has been hard on family members. Bain began working with the Sheriff’s Department in 1991 at Pitchess Detention Center. He moved on to train at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station in 1998 and worked at the Temple Station from 1999 to 2003. In 2003, Bain began working at the Lancaster Station’s traffic enforcement unit. Family friends said he was excited to get the assignment. He was involved in a similar collision in 2003 suffering only minor injuries. The date for a memorial service has not been set.
