A Santa Clarita felony suspect was detained at gun-point Friday on Sierra Highway, resulting in a temporary closure of all northbound lanes, officials said.
Around 7:40 p.m. Friday, deputies received reports of a felony suspect traveling eastbound on Soledad Canyon Road near Sierra Highway in Santa Clarita, according to Lt. Mike Marion with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
“We’re in the process of extracting the suspect,” Marion said.
Deputies began the traffic stop on the 17000 block of Sierra Highway and are investigating the suspect as of 8 p.m.
The suspect has been detained, according to Sheriff’s officials.
Northbound traffic on Sierra Highway was temporarily blocked for an unknown duration as of 8 p.m., according to Sheriff’s officials.
No injuries were reported.
