Congratulations to the Canyon Cowboys Defense for being selected as the Lockheed “Players of the Week”.

The Canyon defense held a good Crespi running attack scoreless in a 20-0 win.  The key was the solid and quick Cowboys defensive line.  Canyon junior defensive back Randy Rigg blocked a field goal attempt in the first quarter.  The defensive line stopped a fourth and inches on Crespi's own 22 yard line in the second quarter.  At the end of the first half, Crespi had a first and goal inside the three yard line, but the Cowboys defense stopped them on all four downs.  In the second half Rigg and junior defensive back Blake McMartin intercepted passes to seal the victory.
