“It came in as assault and we were staging for sheriff,” said Melanie Flores, spokesperson with the Los Angeles County Fire Department. “Sheriff cleared us to go in.”

Around 3:30 p.m., Deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department detained one suspect in Canyon Country in connection with the assault, according to a Sergeant on scene.

  1. Jade,

You leave so any questions about this story I had to say something. Put the 5 W’s, Who, What, When, Where and Why in every story. Ask questions of the Information Contacts who are telling of the incident. Things like what crime actually took place. I only guess some individual in a truck hit some other individual because there was blood on the truck. I guess the perpetrator was a white male from the picture. Did the two know each other? Was there some altercation? Was this a random hit and run?
Please throw us a bone once and a while.

  2. Agree with above! Tell the facts/truths of the criminal(s)!! Jade seems to be new & following the “leave out” the facts style of high school reporters: Michael Brown & David Melarnik!! Shame!

  3. I am glad see it was a white guy, so he didn’t resit arrest smartly done. White males generally do not resist, knowing the officers of the law will be on the winning side of arrest. He will live to commit another crime another day. He did not die for resisting arrest for a DUI or passing a counterfeit 20. Take a lesson black lives matter.
