The Assemblyman discussed with KHTS’s Perry Smith his concern over the Joint Legislative Audit Committee refusal to investigate the alleged misconduct of the UCOP and a mysterious $170 million dollars uncovered during a recent California State Auditor report.
While the Assemblyman believed any investigation into alleged misuse of funds would draw support across the aisle, the vote fell onto partisan lines.
Assemblyman Acosta also took the opportunity to discuss the impending two year I-5 renovation project that is scheduled to begin July 10th and last until summer of 2019.
The project is scheduled to improve the quality and safety of the I-5 through Santa Clarita as well as lead to the creation of new carpool in order to avoid the construction of a toll road.
Slated to have nearly $1 billion pumped into it, the 16-mile swath the I-5 that cuts through Santa Clarita is to be greatly impacted in both the short and long-term due to this project.
